Lisa Gates Retires After Years of Leadership and Milestones

After 24 years with Friendship Village, including 10 years as President and CEO, Lisa Gates retires this month from Friendship Village.

Gates has been instrumental in shaping and modernizing Friendship Village, overseeing the most significant improvements to its campus in history, and establishing It Takes A Village Childcare. During her tenure, Gates built relationships and partnerships that make Friendship Village a wonderful place to live and work.

Along with a strong and dedicated team, Gates skillfully guided the organization through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. She ensured stability and continuity of care for residents while safeguarding the well-being of her staff. Under her leadership, Friendship Village adapted quickly to the evolving crisis, implementing innovative solutions to maintain high-quality service while protecting our most vulnerable residents.

Soon after stepping into the CEO role, Gates began planning for her eventual succession. With foresight, she spent the last decade equipping her staff to lead well after her retirement by shaping a culture of care and excellence that has become an enduring legacy.

Thank you Lisa for all you have done for us-- we wish you all the best in your retirement!
