Welcome to our Friendship Village website.

On the following pages of our website we will outline the several communities that make up the “Friendship Village family.” Some are owned, and some are affiliates under the control of Friends of Faith Retirement Homes, Inc., which is our non-profit ownership corporation, doing business as Friendship Village.

Our focus throughout will be on the unique program that is provided by The Village, as well as the living accommodations and services that are available to our residents.

There is also a way for you to contact us to learn about anything that we failed to mention on this website. We certainly want to know if we need to include information that would be helpful to all our viewers.

Throughout the history of Friendship Village, the Board of Directors has been interested in providing the unique program that we call “lifecare.” This program, and the philosophy behind it, differentiates The Village from all other facilities that provide some component(s) of care or accommodation for retirees.

To provide lifecare, Friendship Village must have a comprehensive continuum-of-care, so that the services that our residents may need are immediately available. This continuum includes apartment homes, often referred to as independent living units, at Friendship Village and Landmark Commons; assisted living apartments designed for the physically frail and/or cognitively impaired at Lakeview Lodge; and skilled nursing care at The Pavilion and at Lakeview Landing. Further, apartment living with home health care available on-site is offered as an affordable alternative to traditional nursing home care at Rosewood Estate.

The lifecare program provides a way that residents can arrange for whatever assisted living and skilled nursing care services may be required throughout retirement without exceeding their financial resources or jeopardizing their estate. This is accomplished through a Life Estate Agreement associated with a lifecare provision, which provides for the payment of a nonrefundable Life Estate Fee together with a monthly service fee, both of which are related to the size of the apartment home selected. When a more expensive assisted living service or nursing care service is required, there is no additional payment required, no matter how long that more expensive service is required. Though originally conceived to assure that the required services would be available to those retirees of limited resources without having to rely on their family or government programs, lifecare is very attractive to those with more than adequate resources to protect those resources for the benefit of their beneficiaries.

In addition, The Village offers a Life Estate Agreement associated with a continuum-of-care provision which provides for the payment of a fully refundable Life Estate Fee. The Life Estate Fee and monthly service fee associated with this continuum-of-care agreement are the same as those associated with the lifecare agreement, with the exception that the Life Estate Fee is fully refundable to the resident or their estate. However, under this continuum-of-care provision, the resident agrees to pay the per diem charges for whatever assisted living service or nursing care service is received. This continuum-of-care program is attractive to those who carry long-term health care insurance and/or have similar resources designed to provide for the expense of assisted living service and nursing care service.

Friendship Village staff will be glad to provide a comparison between the lifecare and continuum-of-care arrangements. This comparison of projected costs can be tailored to your projected needs, and a printout is then available for you to further review with family members or counselors.

In all of these considerations, we recognize that Friendship Village was founded by faith, as is outlined on the history page of this website, and is focused on value, as is outlined above, and on an enjoyable lifestyle that focuses on fun.

The emphasis on a companionable lifestyle has been the hallmark of The Village, and the common expression is: “Any excuse for a party!” Pictures and videos are available in this website, and they are changed from time to time to give some idea of the social program at The Village. Many of the social events are available for friends from the community, and we invite you to check the social calendar included in this website and participate in one or more of the events to get a flavor for the lifestyle of The Village.

The friendship of those we serve is the foundation of our success.
