About Us

Introducing Friendship Village

A Lifecare Community in the Heart of Waterloo

Age in place with confidence. It's the chef prepared dining, on-site beauty salon & spa, state-of-the-art fitness center, library, covered bridge to adjoining buildings, outdoor exercise and walking paths, friends who become family and so much more, all with the benefit of Lifecare. Secure your future with contract options that guarantee independent living, plus a full continuum of on-site care including assisted living and skilled nursing at a predictable cost. At Friendship Village Retirement Community, you will walk into a welcoming culture where seniors can create and live their best life possible. Appreciate the lifestyle you've earned, plus so much more.

  • Lifecare Advantage

The founders adopted a Lifecare philosophy that provided for immediate and for future needs of residents – so unexpected long-term care would not exceed a resident’s financial resources. This financial peace of mind frees you from becoming dependent on your family or depleting the assets you spent a lifetime accumulating.

  • Interfaith Precedence

From our origins, the Staff and Board desired to create an atmosphere of open communication, appreciation, support and understanding. Friendship Village remains denominationally independent, and welcomes residents no matter their faith position.

  • Continuum Benefit

From independent living to assisted living to nursing care... Friendship Village provides service and facilities for all of life’s situations. Allowing residents to “age in place” causes fewer disruptions to long-standing friendships and promotes a close-knit atmosphere where staff members and residents become like family.

  • Nonprofit Difference

Friendship Village remains a local, nonprofit organization owned by Friends of Faith Retirement Homes, Inc. Dedicated, concerned individuals serve on its Staff, Boards and Committees. All decisions are locally made and local choices emphasize quality resident care and long-term service as the highest priority.

  • Wellness Excellence

Friendship Village was the first continuum of care community to recognize the importance of becoming a certified Blue Zone for its staff and guests. This commitment to health through diet, exercise and lifestyle carries through to what we do every day.

What Our Residents Are Saying

We Are Glad We're Here!

“The decision to downsize was a tough one and the process was even tougher. But, oh my, are we ever glad we did it! Our new home is lovely and more spacious than we expected and the people are so much fun. We enjoy the activities, the shared meals, gatherings in the Pub and yet we have all the privacy we want.”

Life’s Best Decisions

“Living here at the Village is near the top of my list as “Life’s Best Decisions.”

Living An Active Life

“We have the freedom to continue our active lifestyle! Take out the snow shoveling or lawn mowing and daily maintenance, we’ve realized there is so much more time to do the things we enjoy. To us, that means more traveling, golfing and time with our family! Now we just close our door and head on our way.”
