The property many remember as Schukei Farm was purchased by Max and Helen Guernsey. The Guernseys then bequeathed it to Allen Memorial Hospital for the purpose of developing housing to accommodate various lifestyles of those over 55 years of age.

Today, that site is known as Landmark Commons. It will eventually become the location of many new Friendship Village communities, including our newest development – Landmark Commons, the Cedar Valley’s newest retirement living option for adults 55 and older.

We believe daily living should not be burdened with chores. So housekeeping and maintenance matters will be cared for by Landmark Commons staff.

The beauty of living at Landmark Commons is that you can enjoy an affordable, country-club lifestyle today. But if you ever need additional assistance, our staff can arrange to provide additional services on a regular or “as-needed” basis. And if you ever face a short-term medical emergency, you’ll be entitled to 10 days (cumulative to 50) of nursing care per year at one of our Friendship Village affiliates AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

And if you eventually decide you want the protection associated with lifecare at Friendship Village, you’ll receive priority access to those communities. Best of all, your investment in Landmark Commons is 100 PERCENT REFUNDABLE – no matter how long you decide to stay.
